The Research Centre for Arctic Petroleum Exploration, ARCEx, brings together academia, industry, and authorities in a common effort to improve their knowledge about Arctic petroleum resources, eco-safe exploration techniques, and environmental and technological risk management.
Through a common effort, they contribute to the understanding of the geology and resource potential of the high north, they develop new geophysical exploration techniques suitable for the Arctic, and they develop new models for environmental risk connected to operations in the north. The research activity is complemented by teaching and training programs at all levels. The main focus is on the Barents Sea.
In this film, we will highlight some of their key findings, and we will explain how they continuously work to ensure the industrial and societal relevance of the research projects connected to the centre.
