Bud Collins, CEO of NEC Energy Solutions, talks to us about NEC Energy Solutions turnkey solutions, why energy storage is taking off and its different applications.
Bud brings more than 30 years of leadership and expertise in power, energy and management solutions to his role as CEO of NEC Energy Solutions. Bud joined the company in 2007, then part of A123 Systems, where he served as the Vice President of Engineering with responsibility for A123’s system development across the corporation. Bud ultimately took over as the President of A123 Energy Solutions in 2013 with responsibility for A123’s Grid & Commercial business.
Prior to joining A123 Systems Bud most recently served as the Director of Engineering for APC-MGE a leading provider of global, end-to-end AC and DC-based back-up power products and services. Prior to APC-MGE he served as Vice President of Engineering for Tripp Lite Inc. a global leader in Power Protection products. Over his career he has held senior product development positions with industry leaders such as Data General Corp, General Dynamics, Alpha Microsystems, Minuteman and Hugin-Sweda. He was educated at Northeastern University, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
